Fire Risk Assessments

Fire safety in buildings has never been so important as it is today, so it’s imperative that you get it right. As the responsible person you must carry out, and regularly review the fire risk assessment of your premises. This will identify what you need to do to prevent fire, and keep people safe in your building(s). This is where we can help with our fire safety expertise. We complete over 100 fire risk assessments throughout the UK each year, using our expert fire risk assessors. They all have over 20 years’ experience of fire assessment work, and have held senior positions either within a regulatory fire authority, or in the chemical and manufacturing process industries. We cover the following types of premises:

Fire Risk Assessments

Fire Risk Review

All our assessments are completed using our unique fire risk assessment methodology, which incorporates the requirements of BSI PAS 79, each relevant Article of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 or Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and BS9999 where necessary. Typically, this will include:

Significant changes since the previous assessment (during a review)

Occupancy of the building and the categories of people potentially at risk

Building construction materials

Previous fire incident history

The presence of ignition sources and the nature of combustible materials

Sources of heat, friction and their control

Management of fire safety, including responsibilities and fire safety training

Fire detection, alarms and extinguishing/suppression systems

Measures to limit fire spread and means of escape

Escape lighting and fire signage

Testing and maintenance of fire protection measures

As well as additional factors such as segregation and storage of hazardous substances, and proximity to neighbouring or major hazard sites.

Our fire risk assessments give you a clear and concise action plan summary, as well as all the technical details in the main body of the report. We also host your report on our cloud server indefinitely, so rest assured, you’ll never lose a copy.
